As you will all be aware, electricity is going to cost you more with the announcement made by the NSW Government recently.
I have been informed that renewable energy, by putting solar panels on your roof, that feed back into the electricity grid & you get paid for, will cost less than 50% of the current price of $3,000 if you wait until the start of the new financial year. I hope this helps those that are struggling. I have nothing to do with these people, but having known those within the industry for 20 years I believe it is well worth looking into. Further info will be available when I am informed.

Any website relies on up to date information. Unfortunately there has been very little co-operation provided by those that are affected, including members of the DFWA & RAR (QLD) that my father relied upon to keep his vision going of a united effort to right the wrongs.
Nor has there been any input from the 60 odd thousand superannuates that he requested to help themselves in his last weeks of life. Media campaigns and a petition had been arranged, but without the input needed by ESO's & superannuates in general, these members of the media will not proceed. I was also offered the services required to make a class action against the government.
Going round & round in circles with the same campaigns that some ESO's have been doing for 4 decades is NOT going to change anything! Nor will emails that get bandied around to JUST a small minority. How about getting these injustices out to the general public so that you have them on your side WELL BEFORE the next federal election?
Therefore I am leaving this site for information only. I cannot keep it up to date any further on my own.
Best Regards,
Tony Graham

Providing past & current information related to Military Superannuation, the purpose of this website is to help reverse the damage done by successive Governments over the years to our retirement funds. This site provides a means of keeping superannuants up to date with matters that affect / have affected their entitlements.
Please feel free to add to this site by contributing to the forums, submitting an article or by uploading a document.

We hope your contributions to this website will help each other to obtain the best result for your invested retirement funds & that the current Prime Minister will live up to his words :
".... the first responsibility of government is the security of the nation. And it follows therefore that government has a particular responsibility towards those who have worn the nation's uniform. Because there is in my view no higher calling than to wear the uniform of Australia"
Kevin Rudd. 8th September, 2008
The graph on the right represents the differences in increases between POLITICIAN's PENSIONS, the AGE PENSION & in our case the MILITARY & COMMONWEALTH PENSIONS.
As one can see, there is an ever increasing gap on the bottom end of the scale for those of us that served our country with blood, sweat & tears.
We invite Prime Minister Rudd to honour those words he stated above in 2008 by closing the gap & giving us the equity that we deserve.
DFRDB recipients, in particular, have been poorly treated since 1973, when the newly elected Labor Government rejected Jess's recommendations on indexation and absconded with our invested funds. Every government since that time has ignored requests for equity with the general community. The indexation that ex-servicemen receive, CPI, was regarded as inadequate for Centrelink pensioners by the Howard Government, but adequate for the Government's own former employees.
The DFRDB Board has let Military superannuants down by not carrying out their fiduciary duty in not recommending amendments to the act to remove anomalies. The prime anomalies are the use of a 46 year old life table to calculate commutation, and the period over which is expected that it be repaid.
ABC's "Q & A" program aired on Monday 15th February, 2010
Military Superannuants were represented on this show by Peter Thornton (DFRB Recipient), Ian Scott (NSW State President of DFWA) and John Coleman (Indexation Manager from SCOA)
Below is a video clip by Peter that was hoped to be aired, prior to any questions being asked on the matter, on the Australian Broadcasting Company's "Questions & Answers" program.
Unfortunately the ABC refused to show the video, let alone the graph that would have given impact to the question that was supposed to be asked.
Even the original question that had been drafted by those representing superannuants was hacked by the ABC & given to Peter to read only moments before the show began.
